Shifting Gears
Although known to
many as a landscape painter, Kass Morin Freeman's abiding interest in
metal sculpture often leads her to explore like shapes on a two
dimensional surface.
Freeman is an elected
member of the American Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor
Society. Other signature memberships include the Transparent
Watercolor Society of America, The Pennsylvania and Northeast
Watercolor Societies as well as the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club
and the Philadelphia Water Color Society where she served on the
Board.
A winner of more than
a hundred awards in national and regional exhibitions, she has earned
the Sylvan Grouse Guild Award Medal from the Pennsylvania Watercolor
Society and the Crest Medal from the Philadelphia Water Color Society
for continued excellence in watercolor and the High Winds Medal and
the Hardie Gramatky Award from the American Watercolor Society.
Her work has also
been featured in numerous books and art publications.
Educated at the Moore
College of Art and Design and the Tyler School of Fine Art, Freeman
has been involved for more than twenty years as a teacher, juror and
workshop instructor. |
