WATERCOLOR, Margaret Dawson Monday, 10am-Noon September 14, 2009 Enjoy learning the basics of watercolor from still life set-ups, photos, and on location. Will also work with some collage and learn composition, color, design, and techniques. Learn to enjoy painting and have fun.
PASTEL, Teresa DeSeve Monday, 1-4pm September 21, 2009 “Weaving Color,” The Art of Pastel. Always loved pastel but know little or nothing about it? Explore the medium in depth by studying types of pastels, papers, techniques, pastel artists past and present. Using still life, model, and plein air, students can advance at their own pace. All levels welcome.
WATERCOLOR, Ann Brennan Monday, 7:30-9:30pm September 14, 2009 What makes good paper, brushes, paint? In watercolor, what is sedimentary, opaque and staining? These questions will be answered as well as many more! For the “seasoned painter” new surfaces to paint, new techniques and lots of inspiration! All levels.
ACRYLIC AND/OR OIL, Pat DeVirgilis Tuesday, 9:30am-12:30pm September 15, 2009 Students will learn to use the mediums in a loose and fluid manner as they relate to plein air and still life painting, and an appreciation of color function which allows for greater freedom of expression. Required are basic drawing skills and composition understanding. Occasional demos.
WATERCOLOR, Pat Harbison Wednesday, 9:30am-12:30pm September 16, 2009 The focus will be on value and shapes. Light source creating shadows with interlocking of positive and negative shapes will be stressed at each session.
WATERCOLOR, Jo Ann Cooksey Bono Wednesday, 1-3pm September 16, 2009 Watercolor and Beyond! Students will explore a multitude of techniques, materials, and subjects to create exciting compositions. Visual weight, use of multiple mediums and “finding the story” will be emphasized. Critiques enable students to develop evaluation skills to improve their work.

PORTRAIT/LANDSCAPE, Edward Lis Thursday September 17, 2009 10:30am-12:30pm - Portrait 11:30am-1:30pm - Landscape 10 week session. Learn the fundamentals of color, drawing, and composition as applied to portraiture. Make the subjects of your paintings come to life with the skills gained in this class. Instruction will be given in both areas. Individualism is encouraged.
WATERCOLOR, Laurie Daddona Thursday, 1-4pm September 17, 2009 Concentration on composition, watercolor technique, color mixing, and design elements. Enhance your skills while you explore this wonderful medium. All levels.
WATERCOLOR, Michael Adams Friday, 9:30-12:30pm September 18, 2009 Improve your painting skills through an in-depth study of watercolor techniques, materials and processes including transparent and opaque watercolor blending. Areas explored will be urban and natural landscape, animals, nature, and portraiture.

Students with little or no experience in drawing or painting are welcomed as well as seasoned artists who are interested in a refresher course. Critiques at each class enable students to develop evaluation skills and the appropriate vocabulary to improve their work. |
