THE PASTEL ATELIER  - Teresa DeSeve. 

10 weeks (30 hours) $150 member/$185 non-member

Bring your own interests and ideas for new work, or unfinished old work to this pastel studio.  Expand your knowledge of art history, as you learn about a different artist each week.  Develop your pastel mastery through experimentation, general critiques and one-on-one direction.  Model (3 times); formal still life (1 time).  All levels welcome.  Click here for Instructor bio>

Tuesday Evening Art-Doug Tweddale

 This series of 10 evening classes is arranged to accommodate busy life and work schedules, and focuses on a "Plein Air" approach to painting with still life arrangements and some live models.  Classes are focused on going beyond the limitations of using photographs for painting by direct observation and painting from life.  Each participant will benefit from demonstrations, help at the easel, and class critiques.  Classes will be held on selected Tuesdays during the months of October 2017 to February 2018.  (Oct. 24, Nov. 7,14,28, Dec. 5, 12, Jan. 2. 9. 23, Feb. 6.)  All media is welcome.  Click here for Instructor bio>

INTRODUCTION TO OIL PAINTING - Nathan Durnin

Working from still life and photographic reference, this class will focus on the fundamentals of oil painting. Students will begin by working with imprimatura and limited palettes while developing their understanding of value and composition. As the students progress, their palettes will get broader and more complex as they explore concepts of color theory, temperature and different ways of applying paint. This class will be very accessible for beginners and exciting for the seasoned artist that would like to experiment and explore their craft. Discussion is highly encouraged and each lesson will end with a group critique.
