Silk Scarf Shibori

Jean-Marie Baldwin

Saturday, June 8
10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Shibori is an ancient Japanese resist-dye technique using various different folds to create repeat patterns.
This is good for beginners or experienced artists. There are no drawing skills necessary to achieve beautiful effects. This is a great way to be introduced to working with dyes on textiles. It’s good for quilters and wearable artists who would prefer to be using their own unique textile patterns or for textile artists who are looking for production techniques. We will work on silk scarves that have hand stitched hems, completing two in this workshop.

Additional information: Supply Fee of $20 due to the instructor on the day of the workshop. This fee covers two silk scarves, dyes, gloves, etc. needed for the workshop.
